(Cefuroxime 250mg + Clavulanic Acid 62.5mg)
Cefuson Plus 250 combines Cefuroxime, a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, with Clavulanic Acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor. This synergistic combination extends antibacterial coverage to combat beta-lactamase-producing bacteria that are otherwise resistant to cefuroxime alone.
Cefuroxime binds to bacterial penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), inhibiting the final step in peptidoglycan synthesis of the cell wall, leading to cell lysis and bacterial death.
Clavulanic Acid protects cefuroxime by inhibiting beta-lactamase enzymes, thereby restoring its activity against resistant strains.
Cefuson Plus 250 targets bacterial cell wall synthesis, while clavulanic acid prevents bacterial resistance by deactivating beta-lactamases, making this combination highly effective against a wide range of infections, including some resistant strains.
Common: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, elevated liver enzymes, rash
Probiotics may help prevent diarrhea. Report persistent abdominal cramps or bloody stools.
Pharyngitis/Tonsillitis: 250 mg twice daily for 5–10 days

Lyme Disease: 500 mg twice daily for 20 days
Doses vary from 20–30 mg/kg/day in two divided doses, depending on the condition
(e.g,. 30 mg/kg/day for otitis media, sinusitis, pneumonia, MDR typhoid;
20 mg/kg/day for UTI)
Tablet: Take with or without food; however, taking with meals may reduce stomach upset.
